CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia men’s golf team is ranked No. 32 nationally in the first rankings of the 2004-05 season, Golfweek.com announced.
The Cavaliers, under the guidance of first-year head coach Bowen Sargent, jumped from a final ranking of 83 last season to its current rank of 32 to open the season.
In its first tournament, UVa captured ninth place of 15 teams at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate on Sept. 12.
The Cavaliers return to action on Sept. 27-28 at the Mason Rudolph Collegiate in Nashville, Tenn.
