Charlottesville, Va. – Senior defensive end Chris Canty will miss the remainder of the season for the University of Virginia and will undergo knee surgery later this week or early next week. He is expected to be ready for the start of training camp next summer.
“Chris is one of the guys who has built the heart of the team,” said head coach Al Groh. “He has a great passion for football and his teammates. That will be missed even more than his playmaking ability. He has been a great player for the Cavaliers.”
