CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior quarterback Marques Hagans (Hampton, Va.) has earned ACC Offensive Back of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday.

Hagans had a phenomenal game in the 31-10 win over Syracuse on Sept. 25. The quarterback completed 11 of 12 passes (91.7 percent) for 202 yards and a touchdown. The 91.7 percent is the third-highest completion percentage in school history. Hagans also was UVa’s leading rusher with a career-high 81 yards and two touchdowns, including a career-long 59-yard run.

He scored UVa’s first touchdown when he evaded the rush and broke free on a 59-yard run in the first quarter. His 283 yards of total offense are a career high. Hagans is the first UVa quarterback to rush for two touchdowns since Aaron Brooks did it against San Jose State in 1998.

The ACC honor is the first of his career.

The No. 12 Virginia Cavaliers (4-0, 1-0 ACC) host Clemson on Thursday, Oct. 7. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
