Virginia Baseball Listed In Top-40 For Attendance In 2004

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – After recording one of the most successful seasons ever in the history of UVa baseball, the University of Virginia baseball team finished the 2004 season listed in the Top-40 in both total home attendance and average home attendance figures for Division I baseball programs nationwide. UVa was listed 37th in total home attendance and was listed 39th in average home attendance for Division I baseball programs in 2004.

The Cavaliers were listed 37th in total home attendance after recording a figure of 43,850 total fans for their 32 contests played at Davenport Field at the UVa Baseball Stadium. Virginia was ranked 39th for average home attendance with a mark of 1,370 spectators per game.

UVa was the highest listed school in both average home attendance and total home attendance from institutions from the state of Virginia. UVa was also listed as the fourth highest school from institutions that competed in the Atlantic Coast Conference last season in both average home attendance and total home attendance. ACC-newcomer Miami competed as an independent last year in baseball and was not yet a member of the conference.
