SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Virginia women’s tennis team concluded a strong performance this weekend at the Eck Classic host by the University of Notre Dame. Three Cavaliers posted perfect singles records at the event and the team went 10-2 in doubles play.
Leading the way in singles play was first-year Diana Srebovic (Oakville, Ont.), who went 4-0 at the tournament while playing against other school’s top players. Fellow first-year Rachel Del Priore (Williamsville, N.Y.) also posted a 4-0 record and fourth-year Marta Bechliwanis (Etobicoke, Ont.) went 6-0 in singles play.
Two doubles teams posted perfect records at the tournament. The team of Srebovic and Douglas Wink (Greensboro, N.C.) and the team of Kristen James (Clifton, Va.) and Lori Stern (Ojai, Calif.) each went 4-0.
In another event of the weekend, first-year Lindsey Pereira (Arlington, Texas) won the Flight A2 title at the Wolfpack Invitational in Raleigh, N.C.
