CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis program announced the addition of Jacek Wolicki as a volunteer assistant to the coaching staff.

“We are really pleased that Jacek has decided to join the program,” says head coach Brian Boland. “He will play an instrumental role in helping us accomplish the goals we have set for our team this season. He has the knowledge, enthusiasm, and energy to make a tremendous impact on the program. He has played at a high level and will do a great job in transferring his knowledge of the game to our players.”

Wolicki comes to Charlottesville after serving as a volunteer assistant at the University of Nebraska, his alma mater, last year. Wolicki was a member of the Cornhusker team from 2001 to 2003, playing primarily at the No. 2 singles position and serving as team captain his senior season. He transferred to Nebraska from Indiana State, where he played his freshman and sophomore seasons for Boland. During his time with the Sycamores, he helped the program reach a school record No. 18 ranking. During his collegiate career, Wolicki compiled a 78-47 singles record and a 34-32 doubles record.

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Wolicki was ranked as high as No. 1 in Alberta and No. 11 in Canada during his junior career.
