Baltimore, Md. – The Virginia men’s lacrosse team is ranked sixth in the Lacrosse Magazine preseason Top 20 poll. The Cavaliers face eight teams ranked in the preseason poll. The rankings were compiled by the magazine’s staff in consultation with collegiate coaches and other media who cover the sport.
The Cavaliers finished a disappointing 5-8 last season, their first losing season in 17 years. Head coach Dom Starsia welcomes 27 returning lettermen, including eight starters, when preseason practice begins next week. Virginia opens the season at home against Drexel on Feb. 20.
