Billie Jo Grant and Kellen Blassingame both advanced to the finals of the NCAA Track and Field Championships today at Sacramento State University in Sacramento, Calif. Grant, competing in her first year at the University of Virginia, threw a 165′ 2″ in the discus and will compete in the finals on Friday, June 10. Teammate Kellen Blassingame, who holds the school record in the 400m, ran a 46.53 and qualified for the semifinals in the 400m, which will be run on Friday at 7:25 (PT).
Also competing today was McGavock Dunbar, who ran a 1:49.50 in the 800m.
Pole vaulter David Sullivan and javelin throwers Inge Jorgensen and Annie Bobiak are also scheduled to compete today (June 8) but full results will not be available until tomorrow (June 9).
