SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The USA U19 women’s basketball team stands a perfect 2-0 after an 82-74 win over Australia on the second day of round-robin play at the 2005 International Sports Invitational, held at San Diego State University, late Thursday.

The squad, coached by Duke’s Gail Goestenkors, now finishes round-robin action with China on Friday, June 10 at 6 p.m. PDT. The tourney concludes on Saturday, June 11 with the Bronze Medal game at 2 p.m. PDT, and the Gold Medal game at 6 p.m. PDT.

For second consecutive game, Virginia sophomore Sharneé Zoll (Marlboro, N.J.) came off the bench for two rebounds, an assist, and a steal in 14 minutes of action, doubling her playing time since the first game.

Following the International Sports Invitational, the USA roster will be reduced to the official 12-woman roster for the USA Women’s U19 World Championship team. The U.S. team will then train on June 28-July 2 in Colorado Springs, Colo., and on July 3-6 in Washington, D.C., before playing two exhibition games in Hungary, The FIBA U19 World Championship is slated for July 15-24 in Tunis, Tunisia.
