CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia women’s golf team will open the 2005-06 season at the Cougar Fall Classic on Sept. 12, head coach Jan Mann announced on Wednesday.
The Cavaliers will participate in eight tournaments during the 2005-06 season. UVa will also compete at the 2006 ACC Championship in Pinehurst, N.C., on April 14-16.
The 2006 NCAA East Regional is slated for May 11-13 in Browns Summit, N.C.., while the 2006 National Championship will be held May 23-26 at Ohio State’s Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
The Cavaliers finished the 2005 season with their first-ever appearance in the NCAA national championship. Leah Wigger (Louisville, Ky.), who enters her junior season this fall, finished second nationally.
