The second season of the award-winning Cavalier Sports Weekly, presented by the Virginia Lottery, continues Sunday, Sept. 4. The fast-paced, half-hour program provides comprehensive coverage of Virginia Athletics. Cavalier Sports Weekly can be seen regionally each Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet. The program will also air on the new ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates in Charlottesville, on FOX 35 Richmond and on WSET-TV ABC 13 in Danville, Lynchburg, and Roanoke.
Women’s soccer player Kelly Hammond will host the show. The program will feature a preview of the Syracuse game with comments by players, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Adventures of Cavman, and a profile of senior placekicker Connor Hughes.
Comcast SportsNet has partnered with Virginia Athletics to air the Al Groh Report every Thursday evening. This five-minute segment features an in-depth interview with head football coach Al Groh and previews the upcoming game. The Al Groh Report will air during Comcast SportsNet’s SportsNite news program at 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The segment will also air Friday mornings in the SportsRise news program.
