Cavalier Sports Weekly and the Al Groh Report to Air this Week

The second season of the award-winning Cavalier Sports Weekly, presented by the Virginia Lottery, continues Sunday, October 16th. The fast-paced, half-hour program provides comprehensive coverage of Virginia Athletics. Cavalier Sports Weekly can be seen regionally each Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet. The program will also air on the new ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates in Charlottesville, on FOX 35 Richmond and on WSET-TV ABC 13 in Danville, Lynchburg, and Roanoke.

Junior Quarterback Christian Olsen will host the show. The program will feature highlights and analysis from the football team’s primetime matchup against Florida State, and a dramatic story on tight end Jonathan Stupar’s battle against a potentially fatal heart abnormality. The show will also take a look at the men’s and women’s basketball teams as they begin practicing for the upcoming season.

Comcast SportsNet has partnered with Virginia Athletics to air the Al Groh Report every Thursday evening. This five-minute segment features an in-depth interview with head football coach Al Groh and previews the upcoming game. The Al Groh Report will air during Comcast SportsNet’s SportsNite news program at 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The segment will also air Friday mornings in the SportsRise news program.
