GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Virginia guard Billy Campbell has been named to the 2006 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Basketball Team as announced Thursday (June 29) by Commissioner John Swofford. Campbell is one of 12 players selected to the team.
Campbell, who graduated from UVa in May with a degree in economics, played in 26 games during the 2005-06 season with two starts. He scored a total of 34 points, including a career-high tying eight points in a 91-56 win over Longwood (Feb. 15). Campbell also set career highs with four rebounds and five assists against the Lancers.
To be eligible for consideration, a player must earn a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and have maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
