Free Kicks is a series of interviews with members of the Virginia women’s soccer team. In this installment, senior forward Kristen Weiss sat down to answer a few questions about herself.
My earliest sports memory is… when I was around six and I was playing soccer in the backyard with my dad. He was keeping the ball away from him, and was able to do so since he was bigger than me. So, in order to steal the ball, I pulled down his pants.
Other than soccer, my favorite sport to play is… basketball.
When I have an hour of free time, I usually… watch Friends DVDs.
If I won the lottery, I would… give a lot of money to my family.
Other than the United States, the team I was rooting for at the World Cup was… Actually, Italy. We had an assignment to follow a team, and picked them to follow and they ended up winning it.
The soccer player I try to model my game after… Sarah Huffman. She is the hardest worker I know.
If I could make one change to the soccer rule book, it would be… You can’t end a game in a tie.
The most embarrassing song on my IPod is… Stars are Blind by Paris Hilton
My hidden talent is… I am double jointed.
Worst job I have ever had… was working in the cafeteria of a nursing home.
If I could be anywhere in the world right now, I would be… Africa. I always wanted to travel to Africa.
Most scared I have ever been… was watching any scary movie.
Book I am currently reading… I just finished The Rescue, by Nicholas Sparks
When I was growing up, I collected… junk. I saved everything.
