TODAY’S GAME
The Cavaliers make their first road trip of the 2006 season Sunday as they visit Tennessee. The No. 20 ranked Lady Volunteers are also the first ranked opponent Virginia will play this season. The game will be the first game at Tennessee’s new Regal Soccer Stadium.

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS
Virginia enters the game with a 3-0-0 record after topping Syracuse 6-0, Liberty 1-0, and VCU 4-0 during a season-opening three game homestand. Caitlin Miskel leads the team with three goals and seven points, while Jen Redmond is second in scoring with two goals and two assists. The Cavalier defense has posted shutouts in the first three games, allowing just five shots, none on goal, this season.

ABOUT THE LADY VOLUNTEERS
Tennessee enters the game ranked No. 20 nationally by Soccer America and has a 0-1-1 record. The Lady Vols opened the season at the Penn State Invitational, falling 1-0 to Maryland and tying the host Nittany Lions 1-1.

VIRGINIA-TENNESSEE SERIES
Sunday’s game is the fifth all-time meeting between the schools with Virginia having a 3-1 edge in the series. The teams played twice last season in Charlottesville, with each team winning once. In the regular season matchup, Tennessee used a goal by Kylee Rossi with 11 seconds remaining to defeat the Cavaliers 1-0. In a second round NCAA Tournament matchup at Klockner Stadium, Virginia got two goals from Jess Rostedt in a 3-0 victory.

ANOTHER OPENING
With the opening of the Regal Soccer Stadium on Sunday, the Cavaliers will be the opponent in an inaugural match of a stadium for the second time in three years. In 2004, Virginia played at West Virginia in the first game of the Mountaineers’ new Dick Dlesk Stadium. In that contest, Virginia spoiled the opener with a 1-0 win over WVU.
