No. 1 Virginia (7-0-0) wraps up a three-game home-stand when the Cavaliers welcomes No. 12 West Virginia to Klöckner Stadium for a 7 p.m. nonconference match. It is “Battle of the Border” night as admission is $1. There will also be $1 concession items.

ABOUT THE VIRGINIA CAVALIERS
Virginia enters the week ranked No. 1 in three college soccer polls. The Cavaliers are coming off a 3-2 overtime win against Boston College at home. Junior midfielder Jeremy Barlow scored the game-winning goal six minutes into overtime to give UVa the win. Earlier in the week, Barlow assisted on the game-tying goal with 26 seconds remaining to force overtime against Saint Francis (Pa.). Dane Murphy eventually scored the game-winning goal against the Red Flash two minutes into overtime. Virginia is led by sophomore forward Yannick Reyering who has 12 points which includes five goals and two assists. Barlow has six points (two goals, two assists) while junior midfielder Nico Colaluca has two goals and one assists for five points. UVa has outscored opponents, 12-4, and out-shot them, 50-24.

ABOUT THE WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAINEERS
The Mountaineers are concluding are three-game road trip which has also taken them to DePaul and USF for Big East Conference play. West Virginia tied No. 21 USF, 2-2 and defeated DePaul, 3-0. Against USF, Andy Wright and Chris Wittig each scored goals. In the win over DePaul, Wright, Wittig and Jarrod Smith all had goals. Smith leads the team with 12 points including five goals and two assists. Dan Stratford has seven points coming on seven assists while Wright has six points on two goals and two assists. WVU has outscored its opponents, 13-4. Goalkeeper Nick Noble has allowed only four goals in 770 minutes in posting a 0.47 goals against average. He has five shutouts on the season.

THE VIRGINIA-WVU SERIES
Virginia is 4-1-0 all-time against the Mountaineers. The teams last met in 2003 with the Cavaliers winning, 2-1, at home. The lone West Virginia win in the series came in 1981 when the Mountaineers won, 2-1.

CAVALIERS IN THE POLLS
Virginia is No. 1 in Soccer America, College Soccer News and Soccer Times polls. The Cavaliers are No. 2 in the National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) poll. UVa earned the top spot in any poll for the first time since the 2002 season.
