Virginia men’s cross country athlete Jan Foerster was tabbed as the ACC’s Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office today (Sep 25). Foerster’s 14th place finish led a strong Cavalier contingent that took third place at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, helping Virginia upset both No. 10 Kansas and No. 20 Arizona State.

Foerster navigated the 8K course in 25:00, just seconds ahead of teammates Andrew Dumm (17th, 25:06) and Andy Biladeau (21st, 25:14). The Cavaliers were the first team with three across the finish line, and Virginia built on this strong finish to nip No. 20 Arizona State 173-182 and defeat No. 10 Kansas.

Virginia returns to action on Oct. 14 as the Cavaliers travel to Terre Haute, Indiana to compete in the Pre-Nationals meet. Indiana State will again serve as the host of the NCAA Championships (Nov. 20).
