TODAY ‘S GAME
Virginia begins its first conference road trip of the season Thursday with a visit to No. 3 Florida State. The Cavaliers are coming off a pairof wins to open ACC play last week against Wake Forest and Duke. The Seminoles opened conference play last week with a loss at NorthCarolina and a win at NC State.

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS
Virginia enters the game with a 7-2-1 record following the victory over Duke. Jess Rostedt leads the Cavaliers in scoring with five goals andtwo assists for 12 points. Christina de Vries has a 0.42 goals against average, while posting four shutouts in net this season.

ABOUT THE SEMINOLES
Florida State was ranked No.1 in the nation last week before suffering its first loss of the season, 2-1, at North Carolina Thursday. The Seminoles rebounded Sunday with a 2-0 win at NC State to make their record 7-1-0 on the year. Selin Kuralay (five goals)and India Trotter (four goals) lead the Seminoles in scoring, combining for nine of their 14 goals this season. Ali Mims has played every minute in net this season,posting a 0.62 goals against average with four shutouts.

VIRGINIA-FLORIDA STATE SERIES
Thursday’s game is the 15th all-time meeting between the schools with Virginia holding a 13-0-1 advantage in the series. The Cavaliers havewon each of the five previous meetings in Tallahassee. Virginia has won the last five matchups overall, including two last season, a 1-0 win inCharlottesville and a 2-0 win in an ACC semifinal matchup in Cary, N.C.

CAVALIERS LOOK TO BUILD ANOTHER STRONG ACC START
The Cavaliers have opened the ACC season with a 2-0-0 record for the fourth consecutive season. However, in only one of the previous threeseasons has Virginia won its third conference game to improve to 3-0-0. That came last year, when the Cavaliers opened conference play witha school best 4-0-0 ACC record.

ROAD WOES
The Cavaliers travel to Tallahassee looking for their first road victory of the season. Virginia enters the game with an 0-1-1 record on the roadthis year. Dating back to last year, Virginia is winless in its last four road contests (0-3-1). The Cavaliers’ last road win came October 13 of last year, a 4-0 win at Virginia Tech.
