GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia junior guard Sean Singletary (Philadelphia, Pa./The William Penn Charter School) has been selected the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for his play in the Cavaliers’ 91-70 victory over American on Dec. 28.
Singletary had game-high totals of 33 points and six assists against the Eagles. He was 9-16 from the field, including 5-9 from three-point range, and he made all 10 of his free throw attempts against American. He also had two rebounds and one steal while playing 32 minutes in the game.
The 33 points are a season high for Singletary and his five three-point field goals are a career high.
Singletary shared the ACC Player of the Week honor with Josh McRoberts of Duke. North Carolina’s Brandan Wright was named the ACC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week.
