The No. 2 Virginia men’s tennis team (12-1, 1-0) returns to action after a two-week layoff as they head to Cambridge, Mass. on Wednesday to face Harvard (2-4) and ACC foe Boston College (4-8, 0-1) in a doubleheader. The Cavaliers face Harvard at 3 p.m. and Boston College at 7 p.m.

Virginia’s last match was a doubleheader on Feb. 28 against Old Dominion and Maryland. The Cavaliers downed the Monarchs, 5-2, in a tough match and then notched their first ACC win of the year with a 5-2 victory over the Terrapins.

Virginia is riding a four-match winning streak after suffering their only loss this season at the hands of No. 1 Georgia in the semifinals of the National Team Indoor Championships. The Cavaliers remain the only team this season to take more than one team point away from the top-ranked and undefeated Bulldogs.

Junior Somdev Devvarman (Chennai, India) is now ranked as the No. 2 singles player in the country, tying Brian Vahaly (1998-01) for the highest singles ranking ever obtained by a Cavalier. Fellow junior Treat Huey (Alexandria, Va.) is now ranked No. 15 in singles and he and Devvarman are ranked as the No. 3 doubles team in the country. Freshman Dom Inglot (London, England) is currently ranked No. 80 in singles. In addition, Inglot and Houston Barrick (Brentwood, Tenn.) are now the No. 40 doubles team in the country.

The Cavaliers next travel to the state of Texas to take on two top-15 teams this weekend in No. 5 Baylor and No. 12 Texas. Match time against Baylor is 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, while match time against Texas is 6 p.m. ET on Sunday. Virginia has already faced Texas once this season, a 4-0 victory in the opening round of the National Team Indoor Championship last month.
