Charlottesvile, VA – The Virginia men’s golf team swings back into action this week when the Cavaliers participate in the 29th annual Administaff Augusta State Invitational to be held at the Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Ga. The 54-hole event will take place Friday through Sunday on the par-72, 7,265-yard course.
Last year Coastal Carolina took the team title by shooting 10-under 854. USC Aiken’s Scott Brown won medalist honors with a 9-under score of 207. Virginia did not play in the tournament. The field for this year’s event includes No. 21 Auburn, No. 10 Clemson, No. 11 Coastal Carolina, No. 13 East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Houston, Minnesota, No. 17 North Carolina, NC State, North Florida, Notre Dame, South Carolina, No. 15 Tennessee, USC Aiken and Virginia Tech.
Virginia’s lineup will be the same as its previous two spring tournaments with Conrad Von Borsig, Eamonn McLoughlin, Daniel Kefale, Kyle Stough and Greg Carlin. The Cavaliers placed sixth at Florida State’s Seminole Intercollegiate and 11th at the General Jim Hackler Championship. Von Borsig leads the team with a 74.22 stroke average while Kefale is second at 75.38 and Eamonn McLoughlin is third at 75.53.
