GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia’s second varsity eight has been tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week after posting a pair of wins at the ACC-Big Ten Challenge last Saturday, the Conference announced on Monday.
The Cavaliers’ second varsity eight crew of Caitlin Mixter (coxswain), Renee Albers, Anna Samaha, Bridget Fowler, Kelsie Chaudoin, Emelia Colman-Shepherd, Augusta Stratos, Andria Haneman, and Rebecca Ryall recorded wins over Michigan and Ohio State at Lake Monticello, Va., on March 31.
In the morning race, Virginia finished a full 10 seconds ahead of Michigan with a winning time of 6:44.0. The `Hoos came back later in the afternoon, posting a 6:52.9 time against Ohio State for their second victory of the day.
Second-ranked Virginia will host Central Florida, Duke, and No. 17 Michigan State on Saturday, April 7 at Lake Monticello in Lake Monticello, Va. Competition begins at 9 a.m.
