My primary inspiration in sports is:
My older brother. I’ve never seen anyone play sports or run with so much heart.
My advice to players is:
Take advantage of the days you can push your body this hard, and know when to listen to your body if it’s telling you to rest.
The best thing about the University is:
The energy of Charlottesville, there is always someone out running or biking. And it’s beautiful here.
My dream vacation would be:
Any and all beaches. I love the beach.
The best advice I ever received is…. (and from whom):
My high school coach always told me “there is more than one way to skin a cat” when referring to training. You have to do what’s best for you.
My favorite moment in sports history (personal):
Handing off in the lead at Penn Relays in the 4×8 in high school.
Best track & field competition I have ever seen.
Watching the men’s 5k last year at outdoor ACCs (the men swept the event)
Why I participate in track and field….:
I love running, and when I first started running I loved that I could beat most of the boys on my high school team.
A brief summary of my early athletics history (introduction to the sport, etc):
I ran spring track my freshman year of high school, and loved it. The next fall I switched mid-season from field hockey to cross-country and have been running every season since.
Why Virginia?:
A combination of things. I really liked the coaches here. They didn’t blow me off just because I hadn’t run amazing times. I wanted to go some place that was big, but still had high academic standards. Virginia was a perfect fit.
The most important thing I learned while participating in sports is…..
Above all else, be confident in yourself.

I’m not sure… but call my mother, she’ll tell you.
