Sarah Hackman is a graduate of Notre Dame Prep in Baltimore and a defender for the Virginia women’s lacrosse team. The Cavaliers rank in the top-10 nationally in scoring defense but face two top-20 teams in a pair of games this week (April 11 and 14) in Georgetown and Johns Hopkins. Hackman, who hails from Baltimore, will face a number of women who graduated from NDP and/or hail from Baltimore in these two games.
Virginiasports.com had the opportunity to sit down and interview Hackman to introduce her to Virginia fans.
Crosse checks first appeared in the United States Women’s Lacrosse Association’s newsletter in the early 1980’s and was the main source for information in the USA about women’s lacrosse. This column is named as such as a tribute to those women who paved the way for our sport.
