CARY, N.C. – Two members of the Virginia tennis team were selected to the All-ACC Men’s Tennis Team the conference announced Thursday in conjunction with the start of the ACC Tennis Tournament. Juniors Somdev Devvarman (Chennai, India) and Treat Huey (Alexandria, Va.) were each selected for the third time in their career.
Devvarman is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation in singles. He has a 31-5 overall singles record this year, including a 10-1 mark at No. 1 singles in the ACC.
Huey is currently ranked No. 20 in the nation in singles. His overall singles record is 30-6 this year, and has a 10-1 record in the ACC at No. 2 singles.
As a doubles team, Devvarman and Huey are ranked No. 2 nationally. They have a 27-6 overall record, and went 10-1 in No. 1 doubles in the ACC.
The No. 2 Cavaliers are the No. 1 seed for this weekend’s ACC Tournament at the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, N.C. Virginia will open play on Friday against No. 8 seed Miami. The Hurricanes defeated Georgia Tech 4-3 in a first-round match on Thursday morning. Match time for Friday is 9 a.m.
