ACC Champion Virginia Ranked No. 5 in Coaches Poll

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – After winning its eighth consecutive ACC Championship last weekend, the Virginia women’s varsity eight crew maintained its No. 5 national ranking in this week’s poll, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.

For the first time this season, the Top 10 did not change. Southern Cal, which also earned 23 of the 25 first-place votes, was No. 1. Brown, which earned the remaining two first-place votes, held onto the No. 2 spot. Ohio State, Yale, Virginia, Notre Dame, Princeton, Minnesota, Central Florida, and Tennessee rounded out the Top 10.

The No. 5 Cavaliers travel to Princeton, N.J., on Saturday, April 28 to race against host and No. 7 Princeton, No. 6 Notre Dame, and George Washington at Lake Carnegie. Action begins at 11:15 a.m. with the novice eight race.
