CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis team received the No. 4 seed for the 2007 NCAA Tournament and will host first and second round action at the Snyder Tennis Center next week. The Cavaliers will meet Hampton in a first round match on Friday, while Old Dominion will play Virginia Tech in the other first round match is Charlottesville.
“We are excited to have a chance to once again host a regional,” head coach Brian Boland said. “Our fans have given us tremendous support all season long and we look forward to seeing some great crowds for the NCAA Tournament. With four teams from the state of Virginia in this regional, it should provide for a great atmosphere.”
The selection marks the fourth consecutive year that the Cavaliers received a national seed and will host a regional. In each of the past three seasons, Virginia won first and second matches at home to advance as one of 16 regional winners to the NCAA Championships.
