Charlottesville, VA – Virginia senior golfer Leah Wigger (Louisville, KY) has been named a second-team All-American by Golfweek. Earlier this year she was also tabbed a second-team All-American by the National Golf Coaches Association. It marks the second straight year she has received the honor.
Wigger was 14th in Golfweek’s final individual ranking. Wigger earned All-ACC honors for the fourth consecutive season in 2007.
Wigger led Virginia in scoring average this season with a stroke average of 73.30, just above the school record mark of 73.26 she established as a junior. She had six top-10 finishes in 10 outings and picked up her first collegiate victory when she won Georgia’s Liz Murphey Classic. She finished her Virginia career with a school-record 24 top-10 performances.
