COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Virginia volleyball recruit Kendahl Voelker (Fort Myers, Fl./Canterbury) has been named to the 2007 Women’s Junior National A2 Camp/Team as announced by USA Volleyball. Voelker is one of 11 players named to the team that will compete in the USA High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., July 16-26. USA Volleyball also named 10 players to a second Junior National A2 Team that will participate in the European Global Challenge July 17-27.
Voelker played for the Blue Team at the USA High Performance Girls’ Volleyball Championship in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in July of 2006. She plays club ball for USA South in Fort Myers, Fla. Voelker, a 6-0 rightside hitter, will begin playing for the Cavaliers in August of 2007.
Voelker is part of UVa’s 2007 recruiting class that earned Highest Honorable Mention accolades from PrepVolleyball.com.
Virginia finished the 2006 season with a 23-8 overall record and was second in the ACC with a mark of 16-6. The Cavaliers open the 2007 season on August 24 at a tournament in Las Vegas, Nev.
