VIRGINIA BEACH – Virginia’s Alex Kyser and Christina Kirkaldy and the rest of the US Field Hockey Midwest team allowed a goal in the 15th minute to Virginia/Maryland, breaking their streak of 85 scoreless minutes, but the Midwest rallied to score the final two goals of the game to win, 2-1. With the win, Midwest remains undefeated at 1-0-1.
With the loss, Virginia’s Traci Ragukas and Mia Link and the rest of the Virginia/Maryland side fell to 0-2-0 while Kaitlyn Hiltz and the South team fell to Pennsylvania/New Jersey 4-1 to drop to 0-1-1.
Tuesday is a rest day for the tournament. On Wednesday Midwest plays California at 8:30 am, Virginia/Maryland plays Pennsylvania/New Jersey at 3 pm, and South plays New England at 7 pm. All games are being held at the US Field Hockey Training Center in Virginia Beach.
