Virginia Beach – With a draw and a victory in their last two games, Virginia assistant coaches Alex Kyser and Christina Kirkaldy and the rest of the Midwest squad earned a berth in the 2007 USFHA National Championship title game. Midwest defeated California 1-0 and then drew level with New England 1-1 to run their record to 2-0-2.
Three other Cavaliers were in action as Kaitlyn Hiltz helped the South team rally from down 2-0 to New England to win 3-2 on Wednesday, while on Thursday Traci Ragukas and Mia Link, playing for Virginia/Maryland, helped their team defeat Hiltz’s South side 2-1. South now stands at 1-2-1 and will play California on Saturday while Virginia/Maryland will play New England the same day. The games on Saturday are the final contests in the round robin portion of the tournament and will determine the final day berths, which will be contested on Sunday.
