Charlottesville, VA – Four Cavalier student-athletes were named to the 2007 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Women’s Golf Team as announced Thursday by ACC Commissioner John D. Swofford. The group included seniors Leah Wigger and Rachel Smith, junior Kristen Simpson and freshman Whitney Neuhauser. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his/her academic career.
It marks the second straight year Smith and Wigger have received the honor. Wigger is one of eight golfers who earned all-conference honors this past season to make the academic team.
