Beallsville, MD – Virginia senior golfer Greg Carlin won the 88th Annual Washington Metropolitan Amateur Championship in convincing fashion Sunday. Played at the Members Club at Four Streams, Carlin defeated Trey Treadwell 8 & 7 in the 36-hole match play final. Carlin used four birdies in his first six holes to take a lead he would never relinquish.
Carlin was 8-under par for the 29 holes while Treadwell was even par when the match ended.
Carlin defeated Ryan Wielgus 6 & 5 in the semifinals and downed Stewart Chemer 7&6 in the quarterfinals as he cruised to the championship victory.
