Charlottesville – Virginia’s Emily Harrison and Andy Biladeau, both of whom won titles at the Lou Onesty Invitational last week, were honored as the ACC Cross Country Performers of the Week, as announced by the conference office. Harrison, an All-American in 2006, won the women’s 5K race by 50 seconds, helping Virginia take the team title. Biladeau finished the men’s 8K race 12 seconds in front of the second place finisher.
The Cavalier women, who finished 14th last year at the NCAA Championships, are ranked 11th in the preseason poll. Harrison is one of three All-Americans who is back for the Hoos in 2007. The Cavalier men, who also finished 14th at last year’s NCAA Championships and return four of the five scorers from that meet, are ranked 28th in the preseason poll.
Both Virginia squads return to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 as they travel to Minneapolis, Minn., to compete in the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by Minnesota.
