Virginia will compete against several of the nation’s top men’s golf programs starting Sunday at Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic at the par-70, 7,011-yard Warren Golf Course on the Notre Dame campus. The tournament will consist of single rounds Sunday through Tuesday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (ET) each day.
The Cavaliers are coming off an eighth-place finish at the 15-team Wolf Creek Intercollegiate on Sept. 23. UVa’s lineup will include Greg Carlin, Amory Davis, Henry Smart, Kyle Stough and Conrad Von Borsig. Davis led UVa in the team’s first tourney with a 24th-place finish. This will be Smart’s first collegiate event. It marks the second straight event the Cavaliers have included two freshmen (Davis and Smart) in the lineup.
The field for the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic includes Arkansas, Baylor, College of Charleston, Colorado State, Georgetown, Iowa, No. 17 Lamar, No. 25 Michigan State, North Florida and San Diego. Lamar is the defending champion.
