GREENSBORO, N.C. Sophomore Monica Wright, senior Sharne Zoll and juniors Lyndra Littles and Aisha Mohammed all earned All-ACC honors, the conference announced Monday. Wright was named to the second team, while Zoll and Littles were third-team honorees. Mohammed, meanwhile, earned honorable mention recognition.

Wright, who earlier in the day was given the last ACC Player of the Week nod of the season, was the top vote-getter (95) on the second team. The reigning ACC Rookie of the Year, Wright ranks second in the league in scoring (17.8 points per game) and has had 11 games in which she scored at least 20 points.

Most recently, Wright connected on the game-winning shot to lift UVa to a double-overtime victory over Georgia Tech on Sunday, 103-101. One of just five sophomores on the Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List, Wright was named to two all-tournament teams this season (Rainbow Wahine Classic and Marriott Cavalier Classic). She tallied her 1,000th-career point at Boston College on Feb. 28.

Prior to the start of the 2007-08 season, Wright was the captain of USA Basketball’s U-19 World Championship team.

Zoll, a four-year starting point guard, became the ACC’s all-time assists leader and broke the 16-year-old record held by former Cavalier Dawn Staley (729; 1989-92). With 757 career assists, Zoll is No. 1 on the conference’s all-time career charts, and ranks second in the league this year by averaging 6.0 assists per game.

A team captain, Zoll was one of the players “Making the Buzz” for the Nancy Lieberman Award (best point guard in the nation) and is a candidate for the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award (best collegiate player under 5-8). She scored her 1,000th-career point this season and has five double-digit assists games this season (15 in her career).

This is Zoll’s third All-ACC honor, as she was named to the third team in 2005-06 and the honorable mention all-freshman team in 2004-05.

Littles ranks second on the Virginia squad in scoring (16.4 points per game) and has four double-doubles on the year. The junior from Washington, D.C., recently poured in a career-high 31 points against Georgia Tech (March 2) and has had five 20+ point performances this year.

An all-tournament team selection at the Rainbow Wahine Classic and the Marriott Cavalier Classic, Littles scored her 1,000th-career point earlier this season and is on Virginia’s all-time Top 10 for career rebounds. She averages 6.3 boards per game.

Mohammed is in her first full season in a Cavalier jersey and averages 13.0 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. She ranks second in the ACC with 12 double-doubles and set a new school-record for rebounds in a game this year with 21 at Florida State (Jan. 26).

It is a resurgent year for UVa (22-8, 10-4 ACC) as it has reached the 20-win plateau in the regular season for the first time since 1999-2000. In the most recent Associated Press Top 25 poll (March 3) the Cavaliers debuted at No. 25.

Virginia will face the winner of No. 5 Georgia Tech vs. No. 12 Miami at the 2008 ACC Tournament. The quarterfinal games tips off from the Greensboro Coliseum at 11 a.m. and will be televised by the ACC’s Regional Sports Network.
