CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Virginia women’s soccer team has announced its 2008 spring schedule. The Cavaliers will play six games on five dates in March and April.
“So far this spring, the team has been primarily working on getting ready physically and technically for the games coming up and the year ahead,” said head coach Steve Swanson. “We are excited now to move into the competitive part of our spring where we can see where we are as a team in the games. These games will provide all our players a great opportunity to gain more experience and settle into roles for the fall season.”
Virginia will open the spring season on March 29 when it plays Penn State in Richmond. The following weekend, the Cavaliers play both Old Dominion and Florida in Norfolk. On April 9, Virginia will host James Madison in the team’s only home game of the spring. The Cavaliers will compete in the Kicks for Breast Cancer Tournament in Germantown, Md. on April 12, playing Georgetown. The final game of the spring will come on April 19 when Virginia plays at Dartmouth.
