UVa Golfers Remain in 12th Place at LSU

Baton Rouge, LA – The Virginia women’s golf team remains in 12th place at LSU’s Cleveland Classic at the Tigers’ University Course. Virginia, fielding just four players in the second round, shot 307 to enter Sunday’s final round at 616 after 36 holes. Florida State leads the tournament at 587. Alabama is second at 599.

Freshman Joy Kim once again provided UVa’s best score. She carded an even-par 72 to climb into a tie for 10th place at 148. Lene Krog is in 22nd place at 151 after posting a 2-over 74 Saturday. Jennie Arseneault is 67th at 159 and Whitney Neuhauser is 79th at 163.

Cavalier freshman Calle Nielson did not finish her round Saturday after shooting 78 in the first round. She was disqualified for the second round due to an equipment infraction.

North Carolina State’s Lauren Doughtie and Florida State’s Caroline Westrup are tied atop the leaderboard at 3-under 141.

Sunday’s final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live stats are online at Golfstat.com.
