CHARLOTTESVILLE Virginia rowers Kelsie Chaudoin (Germantown, Tenn.), Jennifer Cromwell (Bellevue, Wash.) and Lauren Hutchins (North Vancouver, Canada) were named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) 2008 Division I Pocock All-America Team, the organization announced Monday.
Cromwell and Chaudoin were named to the first team, while Hutchins earned second team honors.
Chaudoin, a team captain and member of the Varsity Eight boat that won the ACC and South/Central Regional Championship, completed her senior season in 2008. An All-ACC selection, she was also named to the CRCA’s All-South Region first team.
Cromwell was the ACC’s inaugural Freshman of the Year in 2007, and part of this year’s Varsity Eight crew. Cromwell was named All-ACC and All-South Region.
Hutchins, meanwhile, was also named to the All-South Region first team in 2008.
Collectively, Virginia’s Varsity Eight spent much of the regular season ranked in the top five national rankings, was named ACC Crew of the Year and finished in eighth place at the NCAA Championships.
