Olympic Trials: Day 6

OMAHA, Neb. Day six of the 2008 United States Olympic Trials continued Friday in Omaha, Neb. Virginia is being represented by 35 swimmers, including 25 current members, at the event.
In the men’s 100 fly, all three Cavalier swimmers put up top 30 finishes. Pat Reams led the way, finishing 24th, with a time of 53.86. Teammates Scot Robison and Lee Robertson placed 29th (54.04) and 30th (54.09), respectively.
In the 50 free, Robertson earned a 35th-place finish with a mark of 22.98.
In the women’s 200 back, Mei Christensen finished 26th overall with a time of 2:14.60. Newcomer Lauren Smart also placed 85th in the event with a mark of 2:19.52.
In addition, Jen Narum was 36th in the 800 free with a mark of 8:52.83.
Day seven of the Olympic Trials continues Saturday with the men’s 1500 free and the women’s 50 free.
