CHARLOTTESVILLE China Crosby, who signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Cavaliers beginning in the fall of 2009, has been selected to play in the McDonald’s High School All-American Game, it was recently announced.
A native of New York, N.Y., Crosby is a 5-6 point guard for Manhattan Center High School for Math & Science. She has been an all-city performer all four years and ESPN HoopGurlz has her ranked as the 14th best player in her class.
The McDonald’s All American Game will be played April 1 at the Bank United Center in Miami, Fla.
“China is the quintessential point guard and very highly regarded in this class,” Virginia head coach Debbie Ryan said at the time of her signing. “She can direct a team, lead a team and score and her decision-making is exceptional.”
The Cavaliers begin their quest for the 2009 ACC Championship on Thursday, March 5, with a first round game against Virginia Tech. Tip-off from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C., is scheduled for 8 p.m., and the contest will be streamed live over the internet by ACC Select free of charge.
