Seminole Intercollegiate Up Next for UVa Golfers

Tallahassee, FL The Virginia men’s golf team wraps up its spring break trip to Florida this weekend at Florida State’s Seminole Intercollegiate that runs Friday through Sunday. The 54-hole event will take place at the par-72, 6,965-yard Golden Eagle Country Club.

The 12-team field for the tournament includes Alabama-Birmingham, No. 16 Arkansas, Auburn, College of Charleston, No. 26 Florida State, Maryland, Mercer, Mississippi State, No. 28 Mississippi, Vanderbilt, and Western Carolina.

Last year Virginia finished third behind Florida State and Auburn at last year’s tournament. Steven Rojas led the Cavaliers with a fifth-place finish at 4-under 212. Virginia won the event in 2001.

The Cavaliers are coming off a victory at West Florida’s Argonaut Invitational to open the spring season. UVa shot 1-over 865 led by Will Collin’s fourth-place effort at 3-under 213.
