CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. Virginia softball player Sarah Tacke repeated as the Atlantic Coast Conference’s player of the week, the league office announced Monday. Tacke went 9-for-11 at the plate for a .818 batting average in the team’s four wins over the weekend.

The Virginia slugger, a native of Merced, Calif., tallied two doubles and two triples, hit her sixth home run of the season and batted in nine runs as Virginia scored 42 runs in four games.

This marks the fourth time a Virginia player has received a weekly honor from the conference this season. Tacke and Karla Wilburn were selected as the player and pitcher of the week, respectively, on March 2, and Nicole Koren was tabbed the player of the week on Feb. 23.

The Cavaliers (15-5) continue play with a doubleheader against George Washington at 2 p.m. Tuesday at The Park.
