No. 6 Rowing Wins Two Races On Final Day of Pac-10 Challenge

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. The sixth-ranked Virginia rowing team won two races against No. 4 Stanford Sunday on the final day of the Pac-10 Challenge at Redwood Shores. UVa’s Second Varsity Eight and Novice Eight were victorious against the Cardinal.
Virginia’s Second Varsity Eight won the race with a time of 6:48.3, compared to Stanford’s time of 6:50.5. The 2V8 completed the weekend with a 3-0 record, also racking up victorious over California and UCLA. In the Varsity Eight race, Stanford won with a time of 6:38.9, while UVa finished with a time of 6:49.2.
The Novice Eight meanwhile, had a winning time of 7:11.1, compared to the Cardinal’s time of 7:29.4.
Virginia’s Varsity Four was edged in its race, 7:36.8 to 7:46.7.
Following the Pac-10 Challenge is a home regatta against Ohio State on Saturday, April 4, at Lake Monticello. Races begin at 9 a.m.
