Cavaliers Next Stop is Bryan National Collegiate

Charlottesville, VA The third-ranked Virginia women’s golf team makes its first of back-to-back trips to Greensboro this weekend for the Bryan National Collegiate hosted by UNC Greensboro and Wake Forest. The Cavaliers return to the Gate City later in the month for the ACC Championships. This weekend’s event takes place at Bryan Park’s par 72, 6,386-yard Champions Course.

This year the 18-team field features nine teams ranked in the current Golfstat top-25 and 15 of the squads are listed among its top-50 teams.

The field is comprised of No. 24 Arkansas, College of Charleston, East Carolina, No. 8 Georgia, No. 9 LSU, No. 18 Louisville, No. 16 Michigan State, Notre Dame, No. 13 North Carolina NC State, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, No. 19 Ohio State, South Carolina, TCU, Tennessee and No. 11 Wake Forest.

Play starts at 8:20 on Friday and Saturday and concludes with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Sunday. The Cavaliers are scheduled to start play at 9:40 a.m. during the first round.

Virginia’s lineup includes Calle Nielson, named the ACC’s Golfer of the Month for March, Jennie Arseneault, Lene Krog, Whitney Neuhauser and Kristen Simpson. Joy Kim will compete as an individual. It is the same lineup UVa field for last weekend’s Liz Murphey Invitational that was shortened to an 18-hole event due to rain.

Last year Florida won the Bryan National at 42-over 906 while Arkansas’ Stacy Lewis claimed medalist honors at 1-under 215. Virginia tied for sixth at 919.
