Rehoboth Beach, DE Virginia men’s golfers Amory Davis and Bruce Woodall both place in the top-10 of the one-day Rehoboth Beach Spring Invitational hosted by the University of Pennsylvania on Monday. Originally scheduled as a 36-hole event, the field only managed 18 holes of play due to rain in the area.
Playing as individuals in the nine-team tournament, Davis shot 73 to place fourth overall while Woodall’s 74 put him seventh. Maryland’s John Popeck took medalist honors in a playoff after tying with Penn’s Brett Rendina for first place at 1-under 70. Maryland won the team title at 12-over 296.
Virginia resumes its team schedule this weekend at NC State’s River Landing Intercollegiate that runs Friday and Saturday.
