CHARLOTTESVILLE – Four members of the Virginia women’s tennis team will take part in this week’s Boyd Tinsley/USTA $50,000 Pro Circuit Tournament at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. Amanda Rales (Bethesda, Md.), Jennifer Stevens (Miami, Fla.), Emily Fraser (Rye, N.Y.) and Lindsey Hardenbergh (Fairfax Station, Va.) will compete in the clay court event, which is a stop on the Challenger Circuit.
The four players will begin play in the qualifying draw beginning on Sunday at 10 a.m. The team of Fraser and Stevens will also compete in the qualifying doubles draw. Last year, Rales won a pair of matches in the qualifying singles draw and was one win away from advancing to the main draw.
“The Boyd Tinsley / USTA $50,000 Pro Circuit Tournament at Boar’s Head is one of the very best tournaments on the schedule each year,” said Virginia head coach Mark Guilbeau. “The club does an incredible job and the players and fans are treated to a great, great week of tennis, hospitality and other events. We greatly appreciate the opportunity Boyd Tinsley and Boar’s Head provide our players through the ability to participate in this tournament. We know it will be another great event this year and our players will do all they can to advance and represent UVa and Boar’s Head in the best manner.”
