Neuhauser and Simpson Named to ACC All-Academic Team

Greensboro, NC – Virginia women’s golfers Kristen Simpson (Norfolk, Va.) and Whitney Neuhauser (Barboursville, Va.) have been named to the 2009 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as announced by the ACC today.
It marks the third straight year Neuhauser has received the honor. She is one of seven players who earned both All-Academic and All-Conference honors this season.
Neuhauser led UVa with a 73.42 stroke average during the season and helped the team to an eighth place finish at the NCAA Championships. She had the team’s best tournament score (208) during the season.
Simpson appeared in nine tournaments and posted a 76.76 stroke average. She played in the NCAA Championships for the first time during her career.
To be eligible for consideration for the team a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintain a cumulative 3.00 average during his academic career.
