CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Former Virginia swimmer Scot Robison and members of Team USA departed early this week for the 2011 FINA Long Course World Championships, which runs July 24-31 in Shanghai, China.

Robison, a native of Charlotte, N.C., will compete as a member of the 400-meter freestyle relay team on the first day of competition.

Members of the U.S. squad arrived in Australia Tuesday and will train there until July 20 before departing for China.

Robison completed his eligibility with the Cavaliers in 2011 as a 21-time All-American and a 17-time ACC champion. He holds conference records in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events in addition to the Virginia school record in the 50-yard freestyle.

Robison is also a member of all five Cavalier relay teams that hold the ACC record.
