CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia softball team travels to Farmville, Va., Wednesday (April 2) for a doubleheader against Longwood. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Cavaliers (4-27) dropped a three-game series at Pitt last weekend (March 29-30). The Panthers took both games on Saturday, 10-2 and 9-4, before coming from behind in the finale on Sunday, 7-6.

The Lancers (20-7) took two of three at Presbyterian last weekend in Clinton, S.C. After dropping the first game, 8-0, Longwood claimed the next two, 14-3 and 9-8. Megan Baltzell leads the Lancers with a .456 batting average, six home runs and 28 RBI. Elizabeth McCarthy (8-3, 2.18 ERA) and Libby Morris (9-4, 2.92 ERA) split most of the pitching duties for Longwood.

Up next, the Cavaliers host North Carolina in a three-game series Saturday and Sunday (April 5-6). Saturday’s doubleheader is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start and Sunday’s first pitch is slated for noon.
